Important Note on Working with Our PDF Submittal Data Sheets
We are completing the process of converting submittal data sheets to the new format, using the “drop-down” menus and permitting you to input job and type information. All submittal data sheets should be fully converted and loaded shortly. To work with the new submittal data sheet format, please note the following:
- Opening these files requires Version 6 of the Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you have an earlier version of Acrobat, you will get an error message when you try to open a new format submittal data sheet on the web site or from your PC. If you do not have version 6 loaded on your computer, you may download the free Acrobat Reader 6 program by clicking on this link: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html , or on the Adobe Acrobat Reader icon on the web site.
- The new submittal data sheets can be downloaded to your PC or opened directly on the web site with Acrobat Reader 6.
- Once you open the file with Acrobat Reader 6 (either from the web site or your PC) and make selections on the drop-down menus and /or input text information as to job, type or notes, Acrobat Reader 6 will not let you save the file. You can, however, print a hard copy to a printer, with the changes retained. (See #4 for saving files.)
- If you want to save a changed file electronically, you will need to print the file to a PDF Writer. This is a virtual printer on your system that outputs to a pdf file rather than to a hard copy printer. If you have a version of full Adobe Acrobat installed on your PC you already have such a printer on your system, usually called Acrobat Distiller or Acrobat PDF. You can print a changed file through Acrobat Distiller or Acrobat PDF writers to create a new pdf file with the input included and frozen.
- If you do not have full Adobe Acrobat installed on your system, then you need to add a new PDF Writer virtual printer to your system. A free download program called CutePDF is available at this web site: http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp. You will need to download and install first the FREE CONVERTER, and then the FREE DOWNLOAD. Once both are installed, restart your computer. You will find a printer added to your system called CutePDFWriter. Simply choose this as your printer for the file, and assign the file a name when prompted. The new pdf file can then be opened, with the input included and frozen.
