SiteLighting.com: Architectural Outdoor Lighting Solutions featuring Gardco and Emco Luminaires and Poles
Outdoor Lighting Products and Information for the Professional Lighting Designer
The Philips Gardco low pressure sodium unit is a rectilinear sharp cutoff, integrally ballasted luminaire; totally enclosed, rain tight, dust tight and corrosion resistant. The Form 10 Low Pressure Sodium lighting combines one of the most efficient light sources available with advanced optical technology. Through Philips Gardco's leadership in sharp cutoff reflector systems with wide, uniform and glare free light distribution, a lamp and luminaire package unequaled in performance and efficiency, is available. Two distribution patterns are offered; a rectangular pattern for area applications (A) and an asymmetric distribution for perimeter lighting (P).
Sides are composed of precisely mitered, anodized aluminum extrusions. Top pans are performed with a returned perimeter flange that interlocks with the housing sides. Pressure injected silicone provides a continuous weather-tight seal at all miters and points of material transition.
The anodized extruded aluminum door frame retains the optically clear, heat and impact-resistant tempered flat glass in a sealed manner using hollow section, high compliance, memory retentive extruded silicone gasketing. The door assembly hinges to the housing with concealed stainless steel hinge pins.
The Type "A" (Area) and Type "P" (Perimeter) reflectors are constructed from homogeneous sheet aluminum, electrochemically brightened, anodized and sealed. The Type "A" distribution is a near square light pattern similar to an IES Type V.
The Type "P" distribution conforms to an IES classification of Type IV, Short Cutoff and is positioned to produce an asymmetric, wide spread forward throw light pattern.
LA14 is end mounted to a pole with a 2" x 5" x 4" extruded aluminum arm. LSA14 luminaires are side mounted.
Each ballast is of the separate component type capable of providing reliable lamp starting down to 20° F. Component to component wiring within the luminaire will carry no more than 80% of rated current and is listed by UL for use at 600 VAC at 150° C or higher.
Units are available with Architectural Class I anodizing or electrostatically applied thermal cured polyester TGIC powder finish.
All fixtures bear UL wet location and IBEW labels.
